Study Bibles are a terrific resource for Bible teachers, but need to be used correctly. I like Albert Mohler's counsel in his article "How to Use a Study Bible": read the text first, then follow the cross-references, THEN read the footnotes and articles.
Teachers who take the reverse path shortchange themselves and their students.
