This is an intriguing story from Penn (of magicians Penn and Teller fame). How does this athiest respond to the gift of a Bible from an audience member?

The man is closer to heaven than many in our churches today. Note the double entendre, "How much do you have to hate somebody and not proselytize? How much do you have to hate somebody to believe that eternal life is possible and not proselytize?" And then, "...he cared enough about me to proselytize."
That Gideon New Testament will accomplish its work and it will not return unto God void. Let's pray for Mr. Penn. I'm excited about what the Lord will do in his life. Praise the Lord for that Christian brother who cared enough.
This man understands he is only the messenger and was obedient to share the truth. Hebrews 4:12 reminds us "For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."
